STAN (Hughes) – There was an old chap at the other end of the village and every time he mashed he emptied the teapot out of the kitchen window into his garden.  He grew the most marvellous stocks I’ve ever seen.
WILF (Needham) - When he came back from the pub at night he watered them with second hand beer.
STAN - Tea-leaves are no good on their own!

Conversations like this were the inspiration for what became a book entitled 'Everybody is Somebody'. Dressing a well is a long and tedious undertaking, if it wasn't for the dressers wit and humour it might never get done!

This is not a book about well-dressing. It's a book about Barlow and it's people and what matters to them. From coal mining to village policemen, schools, church, farming, pubs, some poetry and one mans account of 'his' war. Of course there is a chapter on well-dressing!

The book is no longer in print but it is available as an e-book (pdf format).
